After joining the luxury adventure travel company Abercrombie & Kent, Julian opened and managed operations throughout Africa, developed hotels in Asia, and led Abercrombie & Kent’s sales team in North and South America. He then set up a hotel management company, with a portfolio of experiential properties that included The Point, at the time acknowledged to be one of the finest hotels in the world. In each operation the highest service standards were achieved and maintained after implementing practical and relevant ongoing training programs.
From Julian’s wide experience of diverse cultures at all levels, from line staff to senior managers, he knows how to make training succeed by connecting with the audience, free of jargon and complicated theories, in order to give people practical real world solutions for them to solve the issues they face every day. He believes that you cannot have a great organization without great people, and that you cannot recruit, motivate and retain great people without treating them with respect, providing the tools for them to succeed, and to give them a very real sense of their individual contribution to the success of the whole.
