Objectives

The Instructor Development program develops the internal resources clients need for in-house training and the development of existing and new managers in the service delivery system. Clients become self-sufficient by putting their own fully-developed quality service training process in place and having all the viable in-house resources needed to do the following:

  • Facilitate and coordinate all Foundations™ Workshops within the property.
  • Implement a full-service delivery process practically and efficiently.
  • Adapt the techniques and skills learned to design and facilitate other management development sessions.
  • Act as a resource for senior management by focusing on all service delivery issues within each department.

Who Should Attend?

Attendees should include quality assurance managers, corporate human resource directors, directors of training, training managers, or any manager/supervisor from an operational department who demonstrates strong people skills and a natural ability to carry out field training.

Method

The development process involves two phases:

  • Participation in our Instructor Development program.
  • Certification to run the FreemanGroup’s Foundations™ Workshop.

Instructor Development Program

This course is at the core of the FreemanGroup development process. It focuses on the basic techniques of instruction combined with practical training structures. The participants are given specific skills needed to instruct, centered on these disciplines:

  • Developing content of sessions.
  • Handling of presentation equipment.
  • Facilitating group discussion.
  • Platform presentation skills.
  • Handling of an individual’s needs.
  • Preparation of materials and session plans.

We analyze each of the 15 modules for the Foundations™ Workshop from an instructor’s perspective. Exercises, role-plays, and the methodology that best help the trainee learn are also discussed.

Participants are assigned three modules to prepare and conduct in front of the group. These are all videotaped. Each participant is critiqued by the group on the specific skill areas of instruction. Later, they receive one-on-one feedback from a FreemanGroup instructor utilizing the videotape. This takes a full 11 days of uninterrupted instruction.

Certification

Each participant is allotted 60 days to complete his or her final preparation and agree upon a date to co-facilitate a Foundations™ workshop with the FreemanGroup instructor at one of your properties. We will assess skill levels at that time to determine whether requirements have been met or if additional co-facilitation workshops should be scheduled.
