Realistic Job Previews
- A Realistic Job Preview (RJP) is just what it sounds like, a realistic preview of what the job will be like. Whether delivered in paper, verbal, or electronic form, it sends a consistent message of what it’s like to do the job for which a candidate is applying.
- RJPs are extremely helpful for high turnover positions because they have a tendency to eliminate candidates who are likely to quit shortly after training – thus saving you the time, expense, and energy it would have taken you to train them on the job.
- RJPs help orient individuals to expectations of your unique service culture. Isn’t it better to explain to a candidate that you really do expect them to genuinely smile, greet guests, and actively engage guests at the onset than to surprise him or her with this information during orientation? You bet it is.
- RJPs are also a great way to market who you are and to reach people who may not consider working for you because of misperceptions or poor guest experiences.

Job Descriptions
- A job description lists the basic requirements of the job for any position in the business. Rather than overlooking job descriptions or considering them an administrative task best left to HR, FreemanGroup takes advantage of the opportunity to insert into each job description requirements about the service culture you are trying to create.
- Job descriptions can be based on our existing library of hotel, restaurant, or casino positions, or developed specifically for the positions that exist in your organization.
