Organizational Foundations

Have you ever seen a business that had a great idea, cornered a market, had phenomenal success, and then spectacularly crashed and burned? When we ask, “What happened?” too often we hear, “They forgot what made them special,” or, “They lost sight of their brand,” or, “They grew away from their core.”

FreemanGroup’s Organizational Foundations offer solutions to these problems and give you what you need to stay true to what got you in the game in the first place. The four components of Organizational Foundations are:

  • Organizational Vision and Values
  • HR Process Review
  • Standards and Training Review
  • Competency Modeling

Organizational Vision and Values

  • A multi-day workshop with senior leaders to clarify what makes you compelling and different and give you a reference for moving your business forward. Outcomes of the process include a comprehensive document that includes the core values of the business, desired guest and employee experiences, specific goals for each stakeholder, and a definition of success for the business. In addition, a comprehensive system for teaching the vision and values to all levels of the organization is available.
  • Benefits include a clear understanding of how the organization operates, what it values, and a solid foundation for building and implementing any process that affects employees and guests.

HR Process Review

  • A thorough review of HR practices, policies, and processes to ensure policies are in compliance with legal requirements, are driving the desired behaviors of employees, are consistent with the stated values of the organization, and are having the desired impact on employees. Outcomes of the HR Process Review include a detailed list of recommendations and actions for aligning policies and procedures with the vision and values of the organization, as well as a prioritized list of items to address for legal reasons.
  • Benefits include consistent messaging of value to employees, as well as a way to ensure your HR practices are contributing to the mindset that your people are an important part of your business.

Standards and Training Review

  • A thorough review of all training programs to ensure they are in alignment with the organization’s intended brand, vision, and values, and are creating the desired guest experience. Outcomes of the Standards and Training Review include a detailed list of recommendations and actions for aligning training programs with the vision and values of the organization, as well as a prioritized list of items to address.
  • Benefits include consistent messaging of training with stated vision and values and desired guest experiences, as well as alignment of training with guest satisfaction metrics.

Competency Modeling

  • A competency is a cluster of behaviors, knowledge, skills, and abilities that contribute to success in the organization. At FreemanGroup, we believe that having a clearly articulated competency model that defines individual success at each level of the business AND is aligned with the vision and values of the organization ensures everyone knows what is expected of them and makes it possible to effectively develop a leadership pipeline. Our process considers the culture of your organization, your vision and values, direction of the organization, and the leadership requirements at each level of the business.
  • Our process considers the uniqueness of your business and builds a competency model that, while based in sound theory and practice, is in your language and fits your business.
  • Benefits include consistent communication on what is important for success, alignment of development efforts, clear direction for development planning and performance management, and clarity for each individual in terms of their potential within the organization.
